PERSIAN SONG WORKSHOPS – Dariush Rasouli

Singing classical Persian songs and Spiritual songs in Persian language with translation.
Some songs are old classical music composed by Sheyda, well-known song writer and poet from Iran, his songs are mostly related to love, simple and beautiful.

In the Workshop it will be recitation of the lyrics, translation of the poems and some talks about the intervals In Persian music, then some talks about the rhythm that how it connected to the poems in Persian culture.
There will be some songs which are spiritual and with the Sufi concept, the poet “ RUMI – well-known Persian Sufi poet in all over the world. His poetry shows full of dance and music which is so useful for spiritual music.
Some songs composed by Dariush Rasouli, it is composed for whirling dance.

In the history of Iran before Arab attacked, there was religion Zoroastrians, Zoroaster have a holy book called Avesta, full of Mantra Zoroastrian, therefore it will be one or two

Mantra with very old lyrics of Zoroastrian, which makes us to meditate if we sing together.

At workshop it is open for both singing and if someone wants to play and accompany with own instrument melodic as well as rhythmic, welcomed.

Biography:
Dariush Rasouli is a Persian classical musicians.
Educated both instrumental and vocal music repertoires at the university from the great masters.
He comes from Iran (near Gorgan).
He studied playing the neju (flute), tora (long-necked lute) and tombak (also known as zarb; percussion instrument). He has been playing the neju since 1991, and after graduating from music studies, he continued learning the instrument with Mohammad Ali Kijaninejad and Hasan Kasai.
He learned traditional Iranian music from Majid Kijani. He gave many concerts in Iran and also taught neju at music schools in Tehran and Gorgan.
He has been living in Poland since 2004. He performed together, among others: with the Open Philharmonic Orchestra of Agrafka Muzyczna, the Łódź Philharmonic, the Katowice Philharmonic, the Kalisz Philharmonic, the Słupsk Philharmonic, the Gorzów Philharmonic, the Sinfonia Baltica Philharmonic, and the Beethoven Orchestra Kraków, as well as the Lithuanian Vilnius Philharmonic.
He has performed with renowned world-class artists, such as Alireza Javaheri, Bahman Rajabi, Bahram Sarang, Hooshang Farahani and
Maria Pomianowska. He created the PersoPolish group, to which he invited Polish and Iranian musicians. Apart from Poland and Iran, he gave many concerts in Germany, Great Britain, Austria, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Japan.
He recorded the album NEY Solo Persian Classical Music, and also played in such albums as SHOLIZ (bakhtiyari music), CHOPIN ON 5 CONTINENTS, SIEDEM PIĘŚNI MARII – composer Bartłomiej Gliniak, Transoriental Orcherstra with Kayah. He regularly conducts Persian music workshops, focusing on poetry songs Sufi. He teaches the technique of playing the neju, the system of Persian classical music (Radif Davami). He played the neju in a musical score composed by renowned Polish composers for such films as “I was looking for you”, “Wino Truskawkowe” (Michał Lorenc), or “Trick” (Paweł Mekietyn).
He played solo on the neju in the band Chakad, Band Polski and with many others. He has performed at numerous festivals, for example Crossroads of Cultures in Warsaw (several times), Ethno Port in Poznań (twice), Songs of our Roots (three times), Tartu Early Music Festival in Estonia (every year since 2007), Mystic Music Festival in Lithuania, Jewish Music Festival in Warsaw with Kayah and Transoriental orchestra, EthnoKraków/ Rozstań, TOPtrendy Music Festival, PERŁA BAROKU and many others.
He regularly gives concerts with invited musicians and conducts workshops at the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw. In Estonia and Poland he organized a series of concerts of folk music from northern Iran.
