Lightflights – lightness in movement – Contact improvisation workshops – Sebastian Flegiel
■ two training sessions:
⏰️ December 14 and
⏰️ January 11, 2026
The topic of the sessions will be lightness. How to be light for yourself and your partner. How to create an experience that is inspiring and creatively satisfying. Lifting your body into the air is like solving equations. For a lift to be light and effortless, conditions must be met, such as posture, a meaningful relationship with your partner’s center, congruent directions of movement, and, crucially, a mental image. Rest is a journey. On the other side of the globe lies landing – the act of dispersing accumulated energy. These two elements always go hand in hand. Whoever soars must land. We’ll examine both aspects and dissect them to explore the movement mechanisms that allow us to move fearlessly within the shared spaces of our three-dimensional kinespheres. Everyone is welcome, as I tend to tailor experiences to both the group and individual needs. This allows everyone to work at their own pace.
You’re welcome.
Who is it for? If you enjoy movement challenges, group laughter, and experimentation, this is the perfect option for you – regardless of your level of experience in kinespheres.
Bring: comfortable clothing, curiosity, and a willingness to *roll, twist, and improvise* in a relaxed and mindful atmosphere.
ABOUT THE LEADER:
For 25 years, I have been collecting and cohering experiences from many areas of movement into a coherent whole. I am a dancer, performer, certified dance instructor, certified massage therapist, and aikido practitioner. I am fascinated by motor skills, anatomy, and the dynamics of movement. Its meaning and perception by the viewer based on shared symbolism. My experience allows me to observe the act of movement from multiple perspectives simultaneously. I enjoy fusing knowledge from various fields. I enjoy doing this in movement, as well as sitting at a table with coffee. I like to think about movement and then see what results from this thinking in practice. I am a philosopher and an engineer; I dissect movement, disassemble it, and then piece it back together. I know it, I befriend it, and I observe it. Through the very act of existing, I expand my knowledge of the body and the processes that occur within it daily.
