Relic photos of a country full of love, art and peace are a summary of the concert to which we would like to invite you on Saturday, December 2, at our atmospheric Kontakt space.

During this musical journey we will visit Syria, Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Egypt and listen to ancient melodies from these cultures.

♦️INFORMATION ABOUT THE MUSICIANS:

👉DARIUSH RASOULI:
comes from Iran (near Gorgan). He graduated from the Academy of Music in Tehran. He studied playing the neju (flute), tora (long-necked lute) and tombak (also known as zarb; percussion instrument). He has been playing the neju since 1991, and after graduating from music studies, he continued learning the instrument with Mohammad Ali Kijaninejad and Hasan Kasai.
He learned traditional Iranian music from Majid Kijani. He gave many concerts in Iran and also taught neju at music schools in Tehran and Gorgan.
He has been living in Poland since 2004.
He performed together, among others: with the Open Philharmonic Orchestra of Agrafka Muzyczna, the Łódź Philharmonic, the Katowice Philharmonic, the Kalisz Philharmonic, the Słupsk Philharmonic, the Gorzów Philharmonic, the Sinfonia Baltica Philharmonic, the Beethoven Orchestra Kraków, and the Lithuanian Vilnius Philharmonic.
He has performed with renowned world-class artists, such as Alireza Javaheri, Bahman Rajabi, Bahram Sarang, Hooshang Farahani and Maria Pomianowska.
He created the PersoPolish group, to which he invited Polish and Iranian musicians.
Apart from Poland and Iran, he gave many concerts in Germany, Great Britain, Austria, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Japan.
He recorded the album NEY Solo Persian Classical Music, and also played in such albums as SHOLIZ (bakhtiyari music), CHOPIN ON 5 CONTINENTS, SIEDEM PIĘŚNI MARII – composer Bartłomiej Gliniak, Transoriental Orcherstra with Kayah.

He regularly conducts Persian music workshops, focusing on songs of Sufi poetry. He teaches the technique of playing the neju, the system of Persian classical music (Radif Davami).
He played the neju in the musical track
composed by renowned Polish composers for films such as “I was looking for you”, “Wino Straskawowe” (Michał Lorenc), or “Trick” (Paweł Mekietyn). He played solo on the neju in the band Chakad, Band Polski and with many others.
He has performed at numerous festivals, for example Crossroads of Cultures in Warsaw (several times), Ethno Port in Poznań (twice), Songs of our Roots (three times), Tartu Early Music Festival in Estonia (every year since 2007), Mystic Music Festival in Lithuania, Jewish Music Festival in Warsaw with Kayah iTransoriental orchestra, EthnoKraków/ Rozstań, TOPtrendy Music Festival, PERŁA BAROKU and many others.
He regularly gives concerts with invited musicians and conducts workshops at the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw.
In Estonia and Poland he organized a series of concerts of folk music from northern Iran.

👉WASSIM IBRAHIM:
WASSIM IBRAHIM:

Wassim Ibrahim is a Syrian singer and instrumentalist living in Poland. He began his musical adventure at the age of six by playing the flute and oud lute. He studied at the High Institute of Music (Faculty of Theory and Composition) in Damascus, where he later lectured, among others, history of international music.
He came to Poland in 2013 and settled in Krakow.
Here he obtained a master’s degree in composition studies at the Academy of Music under the supervision of prof. Józef Rychlik. In 2019 – also in Krakow – he obtained a PhD in music composition, collaborating with prof. Wojciech Widłak. Currently, he is a lecturer at the Krakow Academy of Music – subject: Ethnic Music. Composer.

He performs with various bands in Poland and abroad. He specializes in Oriental music.
Recently, together with Tomas Sanchez, he released the album “Songs of the Levant”.

He founded and leads the amateur Chorus w Kontakcie (Space of Movement and Dance), which in 2019 was honored with the title of Krakow Ambassador of Multiculturalism.
