HOW BODY WORKS. From somatic experience into contact improvisation.

Our meetings will be divided into two parts:
– workshop from 19:15-
– Jam from 21:00-

Level is open- we will be focusing not only on technical aspects but also on qualities of CI practice, giving the space for exploring and learning from each others.

We see Contact improvisation as a dialog we share – practice that develop the skills of deep listening equally our needs, limits as well as needs and limits of our dancing partners.
Inspired by bodywork, Thai massage, Body mind centering, Axis syllabus, Feldencrise, as well as Aikido and NVC we would like to make this practice safer, in harmony with our body and mind, effortless and less traumatic for our joints- so we could enjoy this dialog on the floor for longer 🙂

In this workshop, you will:

Develop a keen awareness of your muscle tone, learning when to engage or relax muscles to create smoother, more fluid movement.

Navigate active and passive roles in movement, balancing support, weight-sharing, and flow with massage-inspired techniques.

Build trust through touch by communicating, giving support, and receiving with sensitivity to your partner’s body language.

Enhance fluidity by practicing passive release and using Thai massage methods to move with ease and grace.

Experience therapeutic hands-on bodywork that promotes relaxation, recovery, and deeper connection.

HOW TO PREPARE?
Take some comfortable clothes that will not limit your moves- t-shirt with long sleeves and trousers covering the calves are recommended (so as not to tear the skin while rolling) We will practice barefoot or with socks. If possible – don’t eat at least 1h before practice so you can really enjoy flexibility of your body;)

See You on the floor!
