Workshops: HANDPAN in theory and practice (introduction to playing the handpan) – Michał Misztal (Bramari) / 14/01

Have you ever heard the sound of a handpan live? Maybe you wanted to play this beautiful instrument, but you didn’t have the opportunity?

We invite you to the workshops where you will listen to the sounds of the handpan live, hear the story about this amazing instrument, and most importantly – you will play it!

Michał is a yoga teacher and musician. His great passion for handpan has accompanied him for over 5 years. He has been involved in music for over 20 years, starting with electronic music and scratching on turntables, playing the bass guitar and exploring various instruments.

Handpan/Hangdrum is a relatively new instrument – it was created in 2000. It combines rhythm and melody in a way never before seen in any other instrument.

One of the outstanding multi-instrumentalists and virtuosos of this instrument – Nadishana – said at one of the workshops that “For me, the handpan is one of the most advanced instruments in the world.” This proves that everyone can find their own individual way of expression in it. For some it will be a meditation with simple sounds giving a moment of relief, and for others it will be an opportunity to express and create unlimited compositions.

Currently, Michał teaches hand games in Silesia and Lesser Poland in cities such as: Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, Chorzów, Kraków.

🛸 You don’t have to have your own instrument – the workshop provides a set of D-minor handpans. If you have a handpan in this scale, you can also join us!
