These three-hour workshops are a comprehensive introduction to the issue of visual awareness in the context of the functioning of the entire body. They are intended for people working with screens, experiencing visual fatigue, having visual defects, and for anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of the potential of vision in relation to the body.
In the 1970s, attention began to be paid to issues that are very important in our thinking about vision, and which, interestingly, had not previously interested anyone in particular. Today’s research on the functioning of the visual system clearly indicates its close links with tension in the entire body, posture and physiological processes occurring in the body.
During the workshops, we will explore the interdependencies between individual elements of the body and the quality of vision. We will learn why the feet and legs have a significant impact on how we see, we will learn about the relationship between the pelvis and our eyes, we will examine the relationships between the abdomen, diaphragm and vision. This knowledge will allow us to understand how to counteract visual headaches and what to do to see better.
The structure of the workshops includes two main parts. First, we explore the body through sight and sight through the body, then we focus on exercises that develop the peripheral vision, binocularity and the ability to relax. Exercises dedicated to people with myopia and hyperopia will also be presented. Participants will receive materials for independent work at home, which will allow them to continue the process of improving their vision.
Methodologically, the workshops are based on the Bates method of visual awareness, enriched with elements of pelvic floor training and Pilates. This interdisciplinary perspective allows for a holistic approach to the issue of vision in the context of the functioning of the body.
The workshops are not intended for people with active infectious eye diseases or for those who have undergone any eye surgery in the three months prior to the workshops, or when there are other medical contraindications.
The workshops are intended for people who want to deepen their knowledge of vision, develop body awareness and learn techniques for relaxing and activating structures related to vision.

Biography of the instructor:
WIRGINIA CRISTIN
I am an educator specializing in the Bates method, which focuses on improving the functioning of vision and visual awareness through natural techniques such as relaxation, visual exercises and visual stress management. Since 2019, I have been helping people improve the quality of their vision, combining modern scientific knowledge with a holistic approach to health.
My education in the Bates method took place under the supervision of Maurizio Cagnoli, instructor and mentor, as part of a teacher training course organized by AIEEV (International Association of Vision Educators). During this course, I gained knowledge in the field of neuroplasticity, psychophysiology and natural methods of improving vision, which allows me to use the most effective and proven techniques.
I am also a certified Pilates instructor, which allows me to combine visual exercises with techniques for improving posture and body awareness. My approach to eye health is comprehensive – I believe that visual awareness is closely related to the state of the entire body and mind.
I am also interested in neuroscience and research on somatization, or how the body reacts to stress and emotions. I know how these factors affect our visual acuity. During my educational sessions, I teach how to influence the quality of vision and visual flexibility through bodywork, improving posture and mindfulness.
I place great emphasis on an individual approach to each person, helping to understand how stress, tension, emotions and daily habits affect our visual system. My classes combine visual exercises with relaxation and somatic techniques, with the aim of improving not only visual acuity, but also the overall health of the body and mind.
Thanks to my experience and passion, I inspire people to change their habits and introduce positive changes in their daily care of their eyesight, which contributes to improving the quality of life and visual efficiency.
