Vocal improvisation workshops led by Lydie Kotlinski and Edward Rey.
In everyday life, we constantly improvise, but what is vocal improvisation?
*listening
*dialogue
*space
*freedom
*creation
Using inhalation and exhalation (sound) in combination with movement, we will activate the process of free expression.
Without reflection, just the first step towards breath-sound, just let yourself flow, let yourself speak, let yourself be sound.
Then we gradually introduce the concept of listening to ourselves, our body sensations, others, responses and shared well-being.
Then harmony emerges. Musical harmony and the harmony of the world at this very moment.
Lydie Kotlinski:
“Vocal improvisation is about finding freedom within certain limitations.
Because it is the art of being here and now.
We accept the situation and listen to the other person with kindness. We develop their proposal without critical judgement.
And above all, we let go and throw ourselves into action!
This is freedom of expression and freedom of creation.
Let’s allow our inner selves to speak.
Let’s go where we’ve never been before and create together. Let’s discover together.
The use of various techniques, exercises, and rhythmic and melodic games will introduce us to this state and enrich us.”
Edzio Rey:
“I invite you to a comfortable landing in your body,
how to breathe, ground yourself, tune in and deepen your breath.
Through vocal and movement interactions, we will build trust, familiarise ourselves with the space and the group, seeking fluid, creative and natural solutions to tune our voices and
deepen our curiosity and openness in order to explore vocal paths of emission and improvisation in a supportive way.”
