DETAILED COURSE INFORMATION:
KEY INFO (goal and methods):
This course is a land of calorie-rich creativity and a celebration of self-expression, but also a mindful journey for the mind, body, and spirit. A journey in which you not only discover and deepen your dance/motor skills, but also receive support and have the opportunity to rediscover your potential (not just creative).
All this through fun, authentic expression, deep self-experience through the body, as well as reflection and pause. The course also provides an opportunity to: grasp new perspectives on perceiving yourself, the world, and your body, and to powerfully train your imagination, think outside the box, get out of your head and return to your whole, sentient body, as well as refresh your relationship with yourself and the world and regain a sense of meaning (which resides beyond the world of words and objects).
You will primarily receive tools from the fields of: broadly defined contemporary dance (primarily from the area of dance improvisation), therapeutic dance, physical theater, and elements of movement composition. You will also learn and deepen your knowledge of methods such as Authentic Movement (elements), Dr. Detlef Kappert’s method (improvisation and body symbolism), elements of the Anna Halprin method, elements of Skinner Releasing Technique, and the original method of the instructor, Interart Dance (including “Dancing Brushes,” the “Puzzle” method, “Flying and Falling,” as well as combining artistic disciplines and working with props). Elements of yoga, Qi Gong, and relaxation techniques will also be present.
In this course, dance intertwines with other artistic disciplines, and movement expression techniques with the aforementioned mindfulness training. The course curriculum is unique, rich, and highly eclectic. It is also characterized by its interdisciplinary nature and consideration for the needs of participants.
To ensure you feel safe, know that the course is led by someone with twenty years of experience in bodywork and a passion for what they do. Grounded in specific methods, this course provides a balanced and mindful approach to both dance and personal development. We don’t promise you eternal happiness 24/7 or a recipe for life, but rather a training course for surfing the waves of life.
Additional strengths of the course include: the in-person format, the regularity (which allows you to truly absorb the proposed topics and get from point A to point B), and a competitive price – considering the program.
The course takes place in Krakow, but you can only travel to Friday classes thanks to the flexible schedule.

On the Combination of CONTEMPORARY DANCE and THERAPEUTIC DANCE
Contemporary dance emerged at the intersection of the 19th and 20th centuries, when Isadora Duncan rejected the principles of classical dance, “breaking” its rules. However, the forefather of this movement was Francois Delsarte, who was the first to seriously examine the feedback loop between the mind and the body.
Contemporary dance is (often) spatial, expressive, and expressive movement. It is movement in which the mind and body are one.
Movement that tells a story and can express: ideas, emotions, feelings. In general, everything contained in the mind-body connection. Its uniqueness lies, among other things, in movement combined with intention. It is movement in which our entire being is expressed. In which the dancer’s personality is essential and largely determines their individual style. Creating your own movement is often a highly creative process that develops the individual on many levels.
In dance improvisation training (which is a field of contemporary dance, among others), the dancer moves/dances with specific themes provided by the instructor, but also independently creates movement, just as a person painting a picture decides what will appear in it. You won’t be left to your own devices. We will achieve fluidity in this form of movement step by step.
Therapeutic Dance is a different form of movement, where aesthetics are no longer important.
You also receive suggestions and exercises from the instructor. The most important thing is to express through your body in any way (in response to these exercises) what you feel/story stored in your body and to reflect on these experiences.
The intertwining of therapeutic dance, contemporary dance, and other disciplines in this course is crucial and not coincidental, as it trains the dancer not only in experiencing and releasing the content stored in your body, but also in body awareness, motor agility, and the use of form in movement. This form of movement allows the mind to keep pace with the body and facilitates self-expression, preventing us from getting stuck at the level of sensation, association, or imagination. The physicality supports mental space and allows us to delve deeper into the process.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:

– psychotropic therapy (not contraindicated, but consultation with a doctor is recommended)

What you do in your daily life doesn’t matter for your participation in the course.
The course typically attracts people aged 20 to 70. Age doesn’t matter (as long as your body isn’t particularly worn out). We don’t require exceptional fitness. A little movement is also beautiful. Both beginners and beginners are more than welcome (as long as they feel the need to move/dance/develop).
