DETAILED COURSE INFORMATION:
KEY INFO (goal and methods):
This course is a land of calorie-rich creativity and a celebration of expression, but also a mindful journey for the mind, body, and spirit. A journey in which you not only discover and deepen your dance/motor skills, but also receive support and have the opportunity to rediscover your potential (not just creative). All this through play, authentic expression, and deep self-experience through mind-body, as well as reflection and pause.
The course also provides an opportunity to grasp new perspectives on perceiving oneself, the world, and one’s body, and to powerfully train one’s imagination, think outside the box, get out of one’s head and return to the whole, sentient body, and refresh one’s relationship with oneself and the world. It also provides a foundation for regaining a sense of meaning (that which resides beyond the world of words and things).
Here, you’ll receive tools from the broad fields of contemporary dance (primarily dance improvisation), as well as therapeutic dance, physical theater, and elements of movement composition. You’ll also learn about Dr. Detlef Kappert’s method (improvisation and body symbolism), Anna Halprin’s method (elements), and the instructor’s own method, Interart Dance (including Dancing Brushes, Dancing Pillows, and the Puzzle Technique). Elements of yoga, Qi Gong, and relaxation techniques will also be present.
In this course, dance intertwines with other artistic disciplines, and movement expression techniques with the aforementioned mindfulness training. The course curriculum is unique, rich, and highly eclectic. The course is also characterized by its attentiveness to the needs of participants.
To ensure you feel safe, know that the course is led by a person with twenty years of experience in bodywork and a passion for what they do. The grounding in specific methods provides a balanced and mindful approach to both dance and personal development. It doesn’t promise you eternal happiness 24/7 or a recipe for life, but rather a training course for surfing the waves of life.
Additional strengths of the course include: the in-person format, regularity (which allows you to truly learn the proposed topics and get from point A to point B), and a competitive price – considering the program.
The course takes place in Krakow, but you can only attend Friday classes thanks to the flexible schedule.
THE COURSE AS A CLOSED COMPLETE UNIT:
The course is a process (a series of workshops) and is held in a CLOSED FORM, meaning in a fixed group.
It is not possible to participate in individual workshops.
The course is open-ended, and the course itself is designed to benefit both experienced and beginners.

About the combination of CONTEMPORARY DANCE and THERAPEUTIC DANCE:
The interweaving of therapeutic dance with contemporary dance (here: dance improvisation), therapeutic dance, and other disciplines in this course is crucial and not accidental, as it trains the dancer not only in experiencing and releasing content stored in the body, but also in body awareness, motor agility, and the use of specific forms in movement. This approach allows the mind to keep pace with the body and facilitates self-expression, ensuring that we don’t get stuck at the level of feeling, associations, or imagination. The physicality both supports mental space and allows us to delve deeper into the process.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
– psychotic states
– psychotropic therapy (not contraindicated, but consultation with a doctor is required)
– advanced pregnancy and very early postpartum period
– various types of inflammatory and acute conditions
– epilepsy
– glaucoma
– current, unresolved injuries
Situations requiring caution:
– high sensitivity to strong stimuli, e.g., loud noises
– use of medication
– general poor health
– long-term untreated depression
– long-term exhaustion or weakness
COURSE SUITABLE FOR:
Both those with experience in the course topics and complete beginners (and with an appetite for this particular course).
Also for those who are calling to dance, but perhaps haven’t previously given themselves the opportunity to pursue this specific need.
What you do in your daily life is irrelevant to your participation in the course.
The course typically welcomes participants from 20 to 70 years of age. Age doesn’t matter (as long as your body isn’t particularly worn out). I don’t require exceptional fitness. A little movement is beautiful. And both beginners and beginners are more than welcome.
If anything is unclear, any questions are welcome.
The course is for those who can attend on a relatively regular basis (excluding previously planned trips).
