During this session, we will explore how directing our attention to what is present and what is happening in dance can foster our curiosity and deepen our connection with the entire group.
We will explore the space in which we dance together as a group. Our exploration will be guided by the concept of emergence – the phenomenon in which something larger, shared emerges from individual actions. From this perspective, we will shift our attention from individual to group and discover how this influences our dancing.
We will also explore the technical aspects of Contact Improvisation to enrich our tools for exploration in movement. We will also be interested in working with “back space” and with the eyes – we will explore where opening ourselves to these qualities can take us.
The workshop is open to anyone who is curious and open-minded enough to explore the qualities described – regardless of previous experience.
