Stops & pauses – 4 movement laboratories with Maria Martos.
A series of 4 movement laboratories, that will take place every Saturday from 18 of May to 8th of June – 16.00-17.45.
The topic we are going to research – stop/pause/inertia itself.
Everything, that we are running from in movement and dance, for some reason.
As for me, stop is a good point to look from into the movement.
Movement and stop are not the opposites, but rather two processes, containing each other, as inertia is a part of every movement and every stop contains millions of micro-movements.
Going from this dualistic perspective, we will make a lot of stops on the way, in order to explore them, as a phenomenon, as a decision, as a consequence, as a shift, as a change, as a gap, as a continuation, as an ending, as a beginning, as an impossibility, and finally, as a possibility to move after.
I invite you to join this exciting game, where stops, pauses and movements play separately and simultaneously, creating one interesting process, composition, dance.
Methods we are going to use:
•release technique
•body-work
•small dance by Steve Paxton
•passing through by David Zombrano
•somatic practices
•body-mind centering
•”what if” questions by Deborah Hey
