WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY WORKSHOPS:

FRIDAY WORKSHOPS
CONTEMPORARY DANCE and MOVEMENT COMPOSITION:
This style of dance sprouted on the border of the 19th and 20th centuries, when Isadora Duncan rejected the rules of classical dance by “breaking” its rules.
Contemporary dance is (often) a spatial and expressive movement.
A movement that tells a story and one that can express: an idea, emotions, feelings. Its uniqueness and theatricality lies in movement combined with intention. It is a movement in which our whole being is manifested. In which the personality of the dancer is important and largely determines his individual style. Creating choreography is often a very creative process here and developing the dancer/choreographer on many levels.
The basic physical elements of this dance are:
– the quality of movement, including: voltage, weight, pulse, size, pace, dynamics, shape, direction, etc.
– work with the center of movement
– three-dimensionality of spine movement
– movement on the floor, vertically and offright
– characteristic elements of movement are: movement on the floor, vertically and offright; rotations; jumps; inverted positions, off balance, swing, spiral, slide…
The main issues of the Friday workshops concern the study of movement composition, not learning the technique of contemporary dance. During Friday’s workshops, you are given the tools to compose your own stories with your body. Step by step, using different methods, we learn the language of choreography to finally get used to it. At the Friday workshops, you can also expect material in the field of dance improvisation and physical theater.

WEDNESDAY WORKSHOPS
DANCE IMPROVISATION AND PHYSICAL THEATRE
Basic issues:
-center of movement and articulation of the limbs
-mobilization of the spine
-traveling between the floor and the vertical
-shapes
-Continuum and Staccato movement
-Traffic Line
-dynamics of movement
-body symbolism and gesture
-intention and movement
-senses, and movement
-contrasts
-communication through movement
-work with a prop
-solo movement, in duets and in a group

Wednesday workshops are a movement that fosters feeling, thinking, asking questions, and pure creation, which also has a healing effect. It is a movement not invented, but flowing from the depths of our being, describing in the language of the body that space of being human, against which verbal communication is helpless. A movement that purifies and expresses in a simple way what is complicated. A movement that teaches you to cooperate with any inner state, no matter what state it is. After all, it is a movement conducive to authentic and sincere being in action, which is dance.

*during the course are provided 2, max. 3 workshops on contact improvisation or Body Mind Centering during Wednesday/Friday workshops

POSSIBLE BENEFITS FOR BODY AND SPIRIT:
-deepening body awareness

-development of creativity and thinking “out of the box”
