MOVEMENT FROM FEELING – SOMA PRACTICES and DANCE MEDITATION. Open lesson before the series with Asia Książkiewicz / ⏰️ 2 open lessons: Tuesday, January 20 and 27

“Safety is not the absence of threat. It is the presence of connection” – Gabor Mate
(Safety is not the absence of danger. It is the presence of connection).

Dance as a path to self,
as a conversation with another person.
A return home – to your body.
I invite you to a practice that awakens, nourishes, and soothes. A practice that allows you to meet yourself and another person in mindfulness, flow, emotion, and joy.
To movement and dance that helps regulate the nervous system, release unnecessary tension, restore the free flow of energy in the body, and “regain feeling.”
To practices that connect, allow you to strengthen and regain a sense of belonging and trust – in yourself, your body, in another person, and in the world.

I invite you to two open workshops on Movement from Feeling, consisting of 2×2 hours of somatic practices and guided meditation in dance.

These can be “trial” classes for you – if you are looking for a regular practice to become familiar with free movement, want to dance your way through To return to your body and sense of connection, you may be interested in participating in a series in a regular group:

This series of 12 meetings begins on February 24th. After 7 years of leading regular classes and workshops, I still consider the series in a regular group to be the most valuable and profound form of movement practice from feeling.

I also invite you to participate in the off-site workshops – practice in the mountains, in a beautiful gym, but also in a meadow and forest 🙂 Information will be available soon in the event.
Please register and contact me!

METHOD
We will use my own practices of conscious movement, familiarization with free dance, and bodywork, which I have been developing during regular, weekly classes since 2019. My experience comes from: Body Mind Centering (experiential anatomy, somatic education), Anna Halprin’s Life/art process practices, contact improvisation, movement meditation, and mind-centered psychology. Process, Butoh, solo and group improvisation, Thai massage, authentic movement, voice workshops “Singing as Life Practice with Emma Bonnici,” and bodywork training (bio; more about my teachers there).

I invite you:
To take the first or subsequent steps in building a deep, fully accepting relationship with your body – through processes of soothing, gentle unblocking, expression, and returning to yourself;
To consciously let go of and transform the entire multitude of movements we all experience, often forgetting to move the body as well – so that it can accommodate all the streams of sensations, mind, and soul:);
To regularly journey “from feeling to dance,” which will create space for deepening the practice with each subsequent meeting, recording well-being and new, enriching body-mind connections in the body;
To meet in a regular group – drawing on the growing sense of trust and openness with each subsequent workshop, enabling a calm and unhurried deepening of the relationship with yourself and another/other self.

MORE ABOUT THE PRACTICE
We will guide our attention through the layers and structures of our body, using work with experiential anatomy as a path to awakening movement in harmony with the body’s nature. Through gentle and invigorating practices of returning to the body, we will land within OURSELVES.
We will open ourselves to the pleasure that flows from such movement, to exploring a new perspective on the body and the processes occurring within it—including injuries and problems.
Through self-massage and gentle touch, we will learn how to trust our hands, how to give and receive such mindful touch, while respecting our boundaries. We will allow ourselves to benefit from the support another person can provide.
In silence, in music, in dance, which will be a natural extension of conscious movement, we will open ourselves to the joy of contact, to the power of experiencing together as a group. To the pleasure that comes from free movement, from being moved. frozen areas of the body, and discovering new forms of movement.
Remaining aware of what is happening within us, we will encounter another person. We will create flow and ease in this encounter by deepening mindfulness, but also by using a variety of methods and techniques that allow us to notice, let go of, or fully utilize the patterns we typically fall into when dancing together.
We will learn tools that will help us open up new paths to connecting in dance, but above all, we will collectively expand our awareness of what happens to us during an encounter in movement.
By observing the relationship that develops between us, we will explore what presence in contact means to us, capturing moments when we truly meet and those when something blocks us from meeting here and now. Together, we will seek alignment and flow.

During the workshop, we will use simple, deeply relaxing “bodywork”—bodywork techniques typically performed in pairs, introduced

We will work with them carefully and gradually, so that everyone can become comfortable with being both the receiver and the giver/supporter. Participants experience both roles as valuable. The role of the receiver can bring unexpectedly deep relief; while the role of the giver can strengthen or awaken trust in one’s intuition, teach one to attune with another, and become a beautiful practice of being here and now.

We move in silence and to music. At the end of the workshop, there will be space to share what we have experienced in a circle.

FOR WHO?
This workshop is for you if you feel that:

Your body is giving you signals that it needs attention, and no movement practice you know or have access to has yet captured your heart;

You want to get to know yourself better, to gently examine your relationship with your body, and how you connect with others.

You want to spend time with other people in an atmosphere of acceptance, freedom, and mindfulness.
You feel that something within you longs to dance, but something else has been holding you back for a long time (these workshops don’t require good physical condition, high fitness, or experience—openness to new experiences and a bit of courage are more important).
You dance, but you also want to express yourself and discover something more, or you’re too lazy to repeat steps.

You have no experience with dance or bodywork, but something “pulls” you in this direction…
I believe that conscious movement is a good thing that we can all benefit from—regardless of your ability, experience with movement, or blockages in your head and other parts of us.
Come if, while reading this description, you feel this “calling”!
Important—you don’t have to be a dancer or have experience in conscious bodywork. I gladly invite people who have “never done anything like this” to my classes.
If you have and are immersed in this world for a while now, I also invite you. In each series, the group is made up of people at various levels of familiarity with movement and practice – this diversity becomes a group resource.
You can also join this group again without fear – each encounter with the body and feeling is another step towards deepening this relationship, and each group process carries its own unique power.

REVIEWS
Some feedback from participants of previous series and workshops on movement from feeling:
“What happened to me personally was opening up, putting aside shame, starting from a place where it was difficult for me to jump, sigh, stretch my arms, and even take up any space, and ending in comfort, joyful frolicking, enthusiasm, and the mental ability to perform full, open, pleasant, and spontaneous movements in various spaces. (…) These classes work both before, during, and after, and gave me a huge opportunity to Observation, understanding the various mechanisms of one’s behavior, and interactions with the world through something as relatively simple, yet infinite in the possibilities it offers, as movement.”
Ania
‘I wanted to say that after the workshops you led, I feel grateful and at peace. In the space you created, I felt safe and accepted. The fear of being with people faded into the background, as if it had dissolved. Thank you for your companionship throughout the workshop process, for the warmth, wisdom, and tenderness you shared.” Paulina
‘Thank you for opening my heart through dance. For showing me new qualities in movement. For the softness, subtlety, and a touch of madness.
I can say without a doubt that the “Movement from Feeling” workshops were a breakthrough moment in my life. Magical things are happening now, both with my body and mind. I am incredibly grateful that our paths crossed at this point in my life. And you also express gratitude for this for other people. I feel you have the ability to heal through dance. Thank you!!”
