LAMA DORJE

Lama Dorje began his Buddhist path in his early twenties in Kyoto, with the Rinzai and Soto Zen schools of Japan. After 25 years of Zen practice in the lineages of Seung Sahn Su Nim and Suzuki Roshi, he encountered great masters in the Tibetan traditions and eventually met his primary teacher, the renowned master and scholar, Thrangu Rinpoche.

After completing the traditional 3-year retreat, Thrangu Rinpoche directed Lama Dorje to begin teaching. Rather than emphasising any one Buddhist school, Lama Dorje speaks of that which is common to all Buddhist schools; the path of kindness and an open heart, living in the present, and discovering freedom from the obstacles we habitually create.

In person, whether the context is formal Buddhist teachings or finding our way to a daily life of compassion, Lama Dorje aims to present the seemingly complex practices and words of Buddhism in the simple, clear, life and meditation instructions they really are.
