Freedom and Aliveness in Connection. Relational Presence Through the 5 Principles of Authentic Relating – Michał Gacka

⏰ ️Sunday, April 19, 11 AM – 2 PM
Workshop for those who frequent Contact—about building a common language of deeper presence with each other. Introduction to Authentic Relating.
• What’s it about?
Imagine meeting someone’s eyes—calmly, unhurriedly—and allowing the moment to unfold on its own. Without the need to do anything with it. Without the pressure to be fun, wise, or profound. Simply: you are here, someone is here, and that’s enough. It’s enough because you know you can stop and slow down. Because you see both deeper and simpler than usual. Together we’ll explore this kind of contact, this kind of presence, this kind of superpower of reaching deeper without unconscious expectations.
Perhaps you also know the flip side of this story—you’re in Kontakt, among people you’d like to feel close to, but you feel lonely. You have a wonderful connection in dancing or playing music together, and then you can’t translate it into being together in conversation. Something is happening—you feel it—but there’s no common language to name it and see it together.
This workshop is an invitation to develop a language together that will help us meet on a different level than we usually experience. One that will allow us to stop, slow down, and be together in what is. We will make our experience and what happens in our shared presence the object of our research and exploration, reducing the here and now to a minimum, and our bodies and emotions will be our compass.
Authentic Relating (https://www.instytutrelacyjny.pl/en/authentic-relating) is a set of practices and principles that, through interpersonal meditation and relational play, help us collectively move closer to presence, authenticity, and mindful connection. It’s a global community that democratizes access to emotional and relational skills, taking them out of psychotherapy offices and into community and everyday relationships.
• We will
– slow down and return to our bodies before speaking,
– begin every encounter with others by engaging with ourselves and our experiences,
– seek a common language for naming what’s happening within us and between us,
– notice assumptions and transform them into curiosity,
– speak from the “here and now” instead of from history and automatic interpretations,
– practice being—without the pressure to somehow get it right.
We will be supported by 5 principles of Authentic Relating:
Welcome Everything · Assume Nothing · Reveal Your Experience · What’s Yours Is Yours · Honor Yourself and Others
• For Whom?
For people who frequent Kontakt—dance, play music, attend Panta Rei, classes, and workshops—who want to deepen the quality of their relationships within and outside of this community. For people who are not currently experiencing a mental health crisis and feel ready to explore deeper presence and authenticity in their relationships and open up the emotions and processes that may come with it. For people who have others in their lives who can support them after this workshop, if needed. Experience in Authentic Relating or other Relational Arts/Practices is not required.

About the facilitator:
→ Michał Gacka
I bring Relational Arts from Scandinavia, where I practiced Circling and Authentic Relating with teachers from Transformational Connection (formerly Circling Europe). I’m also a student of ART International. After my last Vipassana, I’m even more confident in the simple sequence: first, individual presence with our own experience (body, emotions, intentions), and only then reaching out to connect with the other person. Holding space, I try to ask questions instead of offering answers.
