1st Contact Vocal Improvisation Festival
Hey! Did you know that by participating in the 1st Contact Vocal Improvisation Festival, you’re supporting a new, emerging singing community?
This event is the result of a dream to unite all those who love to sing and play with their voices, vocal improvisers, vocal activists, and those who dream of being part of the vocal improv community in Poland! We’re all here together to sow a new seed that will unite us in our vocal creations and needs. Everyone is invited – it doesn’t matter your gender, body type, skill level, voice, or vocal or improvisational experience, but you should maintain rhythm and pitch and have at least some basic singing experience. This is how you can enjoy the richness of creation!
Thanks to Aleksandra Daraż’s initiative and the enthusiasm of Jagoda Kiczyńska and Edward Rey, known as Edzio, as well as our Kontakt-friends, voice mentors Lydie Kotlinski and Bartek Bartunio Przytuła, we’re creating something truly unique for you, something that hasn’t happened before. Learning, celebration, inspiration, and connection – join us in this super-exciting weekend and add your own touch to the list of values a vocal community should embrace.
Get ready for morning vocal and movement classes on Saturday and Sunday, workshops with vocal mentors, the Great Impro Zaśpiew (Great Song Impro), the Avant-Garde Open IMPRO Stage, an improvisational bazaar, and more!

Opening Circle
Saturday and Sunday mornings, 10:00 – 11:00
WHAT? Starting the day with movement – improvisation – integration. Group welcome to the festival, making friends with the voices present and the community. Settling in and landing together.
WHO? Anyone joining on Saturday or Sunday.
Workshops Saturday and Sunday.
WHAT? Get inspired, have fun, and learn with voice mentors who have prepared a special workshop program for the contact festival.
WHO? Suitable for everyone!
COST? PLN 100/workshop if you don’t participate in the entire festival
GREAT IMPROSIMPLE SINGING
Saturday, 5:30 PM
WHAT? A friendly introduction to vocal improvisation. We gather and are led through a fun warm-up and a joyful large-group singing experience inspired by Musica do Circulo and the magic of singing in a circle.
WHO? Suitable for everyone, but especially for those just discovering vocal improvisation. Come and try it!
COST? Free entry
Avant-garde, open-air IMPRO stage
Saturday 6:30 PM
WHAT? An open-air stage featuring live performances by the mentoring team, featuring YOU as guest artists! Sign up with new singing friends or put your name in the hat and let the universe decide who will be part of the team.
WHO? The concert is open to everyone; you don’t have to be a participant, so bring your own people!
COST? Free entry
Improvision Bazaar
Sunday 1:00 PM
WHAT? This is the place and time to offer something to other participants. A facilitated space for self-organization where anyone can step in and propose a session or suggest an aspect of vocal improvisation to explore. You will take the lead and create an Improvisation Bazaar brimming with your creativity, curiosity, and inspiration.
WHO? Beginning facilitators and passionate improvisers are warmly welcome to offer sessions, while the rest of us decide what we want to participate in.
Conversations – reflections – tea – snacks
Sunday 2:00 PM
WHAT? An afternoon gathering for reflection and networking over snacks (bring your own to the communal table too!) Supporting the community and engaging in shaping the future of vocal improvisation and the community in Poland.
WHO? For everyone open to creating and strengthening new connections. Let’s create the reality the vocal improvisation community in Poland desires! Let’s get to know each other, join our voices in strength, and create together!

Bartosz Bartunio Przytuła Vocal Workshops “InterAkcje” (Sunday 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
This charismatic and overflowing with talent man, known as Bartuń, will bring vocal courage, experimentation, and the secrets of free singing to the festival under the secret name “3E.” He also says there will be a lot of fun. If you don’t know Bartunio yet, take advantage! Bartunio is coming from the far north to show you that you possess high vocal skills. If you don’t believe it yet, that’s great.

Edziu is a man who has been nurturing and creating Kontakt in his arms and heart for many years. His warmth, care, and humility, combined with his great passion for vocal improvisation and dance, are captivating. He’s a gem! You have to know Edziu. And to truly understand why Edziu is so beloved, come to the surprise pre-festival workshops for everyone! He says there will be body-touching, trust-building, vocal connections and interactions, and smooth transitions between voice and body. Soft and slow. You shouldn’t miss it.
