IWONA OLSZOWSKA:
Dancer, choreographer, lecturer in improvisation, improvisation as performance, and Somatic Movement Educator according to Body Mind Centering. She is fascinated by the infinity of the universe, the beauty of nature, the richness of everyday life, body awareness, anatomy, and psychology. She creates a movement language that encompasses horizontal and vertical communication, between being and spirituality. She collaborates with musician Marcin Janus and dancers including Paweł Konior, Anna Haracz, and Magda Przybysz. She gained experience at dance centers in New York and at universities in Washington, Alabama, and Calgary. She directed the Experimental Dance Studio EST and taught at the PWST in Kraków and the Warsaw Dance Department. In 2015, she performed at TEDex. She teaches at Hurtownia Ruchu in Kraków and at the Academy of Music in Łódź. In 2020, she prepared her first premiere for the Body/Mind Festival, and it’s worth noting that she performed at the very first edition of the festival in 1995! She also participated in the 20th anniversary edition of the Body/Mind Festival in 2021.
