BUTOH – DANCE WORKSHOP IN KRAKOW

The workshop is aimed at people interested in self-development as well as deepening and broadening the awareness of the body. It will be useful for: dancers, performers, actors, people training: martial arts, yoga, etc., as well as people interested in body therapy, who are looking for authentic movement, creativity, and attentive presence in the body in relation to others.

The workshop will be a combination of various methods of working with the body, creating a coherent whole:
– Aikishintaiso (Aikido internal gymnastics),
– Noguchitaiso (Noguchi Michizo gymnastics),
– dancing with / without a picture,
– expressing emotions in dance,
– improvisation,
– dance: individual, in contact with a partner and in a group,
– meditation and deep relaxation.

Thanks to this approach, the workshop participant will be able to delve into his interior (physical sensations, emotions, mental visions, “sense” of space, etc.) in order to become aware of and express sensations in authentic movement.

BUTOH
Japanese “modern” dance – it was created in the 1950s as a result of a search for new forms of expression. Its creators: Tatsumi Hijikata and Kazuo Ohno, both negated their own tradition (Kabuki, Bunraku, Nō) and “opposed” the mass culture of the West.
In Butoh dance, the body becomes a text, a record of human experience discovered by movement. Butoh poses
the possibility of direct, total self-expression.

PLN 290 – advance payment PLN 90 by 27/05/2022 (the remaining amount is payable on the day of the workshop)

LEADING
Krzysztof Jerzak – a Butoh dancer, aikidoka. In 1987 he began training Aikido, in the years 2003-2020 he taught with regular classes. He currently holds a master’s degree in 4 dan. Was
founder and teacher of the Krakow Aikido Kobayashi Hirokazu Academy.
In 1999 he started studying Japanese Butoh dance. He took lessons from: Daisuke Yoshimoto, Itto Morita, Atsushi Takenouchi, Imre Thormann, Katsura Kan and others. His output includes several solo performances: “Honest?” (2002), “Beyond” (2005), “Straw-butoh” (2009), “Dividing (2019),” Words, words, words … “(2019),” Hana no michi “- The Way
flowers (2020).

In 2004 he ran a year-long project called “Integration in dance therapy”, in which also people participated
deaf-mute – for the participants, he wrote and directed the play “Flowers on the Sidewalk”. In the years 2005-2011 he collaborated many times with independent artists: musicians, actors, dancers, filmmakers, co-creating stage and
cinematic. In 2008, together with the Do-Teatr group, he co-created the performance “Aite” (choreography and dance).
He regularly conducts workshops in several cities in Poland.
