„3 Regiony Polinezji”: 3 tańce polinezyjskie z Maną i Hiną – Ori Tahiti, Hula Hawai, Haka Māori / 11 października

* Warsztaty prowadzone są w języku angielskim / The workshops are conducted in English

On Saturday, October the 11th, three dances from three regions of the Polynesian triangle are brought to Krakow.

The dynamic Tahitian dance (‘Ori Tahiti), perfect for moving the hips with energy, expressing joy while Tahitian drumbeats are giving the tempo. For women.

The sacred Hula Hawai’i, honouring the power of the land, the sky, the ocean and the elements. For men and women.

⛰️ The fierce and powerful Haka Māori, expressing pride, embodying one’s will and the ancestors’ legacy. For men and women.

Join us to learn about the Polynesian philosophies, the specificities of each dance and how we tell stories with our body.

Instructors:
Mana:
Mana, comes from Polynesia, born on the sacred island of Ra’iatea, the legendary Hava’i Nui. His family traces their lineage to the clan/tribe standing against colonizers in the Leeward islands, in French Polynesia, and Aotearoa (New Zealand). As the traditions oblige, he learnt about his ancestors, cultures, and traditions growing up with his grandparents, guarding dearly the stories and legends of Polynesia, told by his elders in his childhood.
Mana’s goal is to share the authentic Polynesian cultures.

Hina:
Hinatea was born in France with Tahitian origins on her father’s side. Her name is associated with the ancient Polynesian Goddess of the Moon, Hina. The call of her Polynesian roots was loud and drew her back to her heritage, so she became a teacher of Ori Tahiti (Tahitian traditional dance). During her stay in Europe and Polynesia, she had the opportunity to immerse herself in Tahitian culture, but also connect with other Pacific cultures and dances, such as the Hawaiian hula.

This is a gentle reminder to always seek for Polynesian guidance when willing to learn about Polynesian practices, that shows respect to the cultures. Please, look for Polynesians
