● ArtSport: Contact Improvisation – Training that becomes Poetry // ● Anatomy of Presence. Triad. Body – Mind – Emotions in one flow – weekend with Sebastian Flegiel / May 9 and 10

Hello and welcome to a weekend of movement (May 9th – 10th) – Second Edition
I have two suggestions for you.

On Saturday, Contact Improvisation classes, and on Sunday, a deep dive into the world of awareness training. My original proposal: Anatomy of Consciousness.

Read the descriptions below and I invite you to the Meetings 🙂

Saturday – May 9th
ArtSport: Contact Improvisation – Training that Becomes Poetry

Contact Improvisation is over 50 years old. For half a century, it has been teaching us one simple principle: energy doesn’t disappear, it changes form. Gravity becomes momentum. The momentum becomes a bounce. The bounce becomes a moment when you’re airborne for a second – and that’s enough to feel that the body is capable of more than you think.

And then someone decided that this was too much physicality. That it needed to be softened, spiritualized, and calmed. And good – that was needed. But suddenly, dance, born from a fascination with physics and dynamics, became static. Full of good intentions, but lacking one key ingredient: transformation. Without the moment when the body ceases to be a burden and becomes an ally. Without the moment when you can stop planning and simply… be a passenger in your own movement.

That’s why I’ve been running workshops differently for years.

I call it ArtSport—that’s what Contact Improvisation used to be called. Not because I separate art from effort. Quite the opposite. ArtSport is a place where training becomes poetry. Where strength isn’t a goal, but a gateway. The truth lies in the tension between athletic lightness and artistic discipline. Between the strength that allows you to hold another person on your shoulder and the tenderness that tells you how to care for them upon landing. Between the training that builds and the poetry that is born when the training fades away.

What will our day look like?

We divide it into two blocks. You can participate in just the first part and leave fulfilled, oxygenated, and at peace. You can stay for both parts and feel your dance take on new dimensions, becoming lighter and more present.

10:00 AM–1:00 PM | ROOTS – Flow and Presence (all levels welcome – from those who have never practiced to advanced Contact veterans.)

Here we start with the foundation. But be warned: foundation in ArtSport doesn’t mean “easier.” It means more consciously.

This is our common ground. We’re returning to the roots that have evolved over 50 years to become an incredibly sensitive body language. This isn’t a “warm-up for the weak.” It’s a mindfulness training.

We will:

– learn to distribute weight so that the joints don’t scream,

– roll so that the spine says “thank you,”

– touch the other person so that partnering becomes a dialogue, not a lifting exercise.

Fluid floor work, initial partnering, conscious flow. We build within ourselves “little dances” of stability and balance—the foundation for everything that comes later. This part isn’t about strength, but about the body intelligence that lies within you. Are you coming for the first time? Have you been here for years? You’re welcome. Together, we create a space where every level has the right to be and learn at their own pace.

1:00 PM–2:00 PM | Lunch Break

Time for your own meal, warm tea, conversation, and smiles.

2:00 PM–5:00 PM | LOT – Depth and Dynamics (for those who want more)

If your body says “yes,” we enter the second layer. The door is open to anyone who feels their body asking for more. This isn’t a fight. It’s the art of surrendering to gravity together.

We learn that true support isn’t about rigid holding, but about flexible, dynamic following. This can be demanding—just as true, in-depth training is demanding. But it’s precisely in this “demand” that a new resilience is born, a trust in physics and in another person, a strength you never knew you possessed.

This is the moment when training ceases to be visible. Where the strength you’ve built becomes transparent—because the movement is so fluid that no one sees the effort, only pure expression. Dynamic partnering, sharing the burden, dancing with gravity, where your body is strong enough to allow itself to surrender completely to the moment.

What do you gain?

– A body that stops fearing—falling, weight, another person.

– Gravity as an ally, not an enemy.

– The ability to be a passenger in your own movement—without planning, with pure presence.

– Dance that is breathtaking to watch because it looks like poetry, yet is pure physics.

Sunday – May 10

Anatomy of Presence. Triad. Body – Mind – Emotions in one flow.

Theme: 6 hours that synchronize your body, mind, and emotions. We start on time.

Does your practice—both on the mat and in life—sometimes feel disjointed? The body does its thing, the mind races, and emotions drag elsewhere.

This isn’t just another event. It’s a new proposition.

I invite you to a one-day immersion during which we will recognize and connect into one seamless whole what often remains scattered: movement, breath, and inner silence. This is a fusion of three domains of your being: body, mind, and emotions. There’s no fighting, no forcing, no more “I have to” items. There’s precision and a return to natural flow.

This is a fusion of meditation, Taoist internal exercises, the “Invisible Movement” technique, guided internal meditation, and building expanded awareness.

Why is it the best idea for you to come?

Because after these 6 hours:

– You’ll experience what awareness training is all about.

– You’ll gain a calmer head. Inner noise will no longer be the background of your day.

– You’ll learn to read emotions directly from your body. No analysis, no guesswork. You’ll simply feel and understand them.

– You’ll learn different ways of breathing and working with your inner tone.

You will experience a profound sense of “I am here. Whole.” A coherence that translates into clarity in decisions and relationships.

You don’t have to be a yogi, dancer, or meditator for years. The exercises are simple, accessible, and take you deep – regardless of whether you’re just starting out or have years of practice under your belt. This session will be perfect for anyone who’s undergone strenuous physical training and needs to unwind, as well as someone who simply needs to immerse themselves in the bodily present. Bring your parents, grandparents, or cousins. The classes are open to all ages and skill levels (from young people to seniors – the whole family is welcome to come and unwind).

We will practice and stretch the awareness of direct experience.

What will our day look like (10:00 AM–5:00 PM)

10:00 AM–1:00 PM | Block I – The Body as the Foundation of Experience

A precise body scan to relax and calm a shifting consciousness. Micro-activations based on Taoist inner practice. A quiet journey of attention through successive areas to restore natural flow where it has been blocked. We will create a living map of your inner and outer statement.

1:00 PM–2:00 PM | Lunch Break

Time for your own meal and conversation (or a quiet deepening of practice while waiting for Part II).

2:00 PM–5:00 PM | Block II – Mind and Emotions in Flow

Guided meditations and triad integration. We will learn to recognize inner space and emotional texture without struggle. You will feel how gravity and the shape of your body can support you – on the mat, in dance, in an ordinary day. Gentle movement in lying and sitting positions, as well as wet activations and guided attention, will play a leading role.

Important:

– We start promptly at 10:00 AM. The doors will close at 10:05 AM to avoid interrupting the group’s transition into deep work. Please arrive a few minutes early.

– Space: limited to 20-25 people, for comfort and quality of work.

What to bring:

Warm, loose clothing (sweatshirt, sweatshirt), socks, a blanket or large scarf (the body cools down quickly), a mat for lying down (optional), perhaps a thin pillow or sweatshirt under the head, water, and a light snack. Basically, anything that will allow us to lie comfortably for a longer period of time 🙂

If your body whispers, “this might be important,” trust that whisper. The body often knows before the mind.

I’m waiting for you in precision and silence.

About the Instructor

Sebastian Flegiel – Creator of Movementalism

A process engineer and philosopher by training, a master’s degree in choreography and a dancer by passion. He has been involved in Contact Improvisation for over 25 years, 18 of which he has taught internationally. He has been meditating for 12 years – the last eight daily without a break.

A dancer, choreographer, and Contact Improvisation teacher with over 26 years of international experience. I lead workshops from London to Madrid, Bali, Bangkok, and Poland. I specialize in conscious partnering, working with weight, momentum, and deep presence in movement. I invite you to a practice in which the body learns to listen, trust, and fly.

For several years, he has been guiding people through the process of precisely synchronizing the triad: body, mind, and emotions. He combines an engineering map of internal processes, philosophical clarity, and the embodied wisdom of movement and meditation. He transcends technique – he provides a map through which these three dimensions become one coherent system of experience.
