A vocal course on finding your own voice in your own body through traditional Ukrainian songs.

Marichka Chichkova is a Ukrainian singer. She was a member of such Lviv bands as Torban, Weselo, Drig. She also sang in the American-Belarusian-Ukrainian group SLAVALACHIA, with which she performed in Kontakt 2 years ago. 😍 She is also musical director of the Lviv Puppet Theater and cultural manager.

She has been researching traditional singing and music for almost 10 years and all the time she is studying: School of traditional music Rys, trainings and master classes of Ulyana Gorbachevska, Anna Okhrimchuk, Susana Karpenko, Yevhen Yefremov, Anna Koropnichenko, and from the living bearers of the tradition – Drevo z Kryachkivka, Domenyki Chekun, Oleksia Zayats. And for several more years she studied with the teacher of the Jazz School – Yulia Shved.

Marichka started teaching 5 years ago, first with a group of students, then with the actors of the Lviv Puppet Theater, and now she systematically conducts “Spivmajsternya with Marichka Chichkova” in Lviv.

The workshops take place in an atmospheric tenement house opposite the Słowacki Theater, in the heart of Krakow, 7 minutes’ walk from the Main Railway Station. 🙂
