ABOUT CONTEMPORARY DANCE, THERAPEUTIC DANCE AND WHY THE COURSE IS IN BOTH THESE AREAS:

Contemporary dance emerged on the border of the 19th and 20th centuries, when Isadora Duncan rejected the principles of classical dance and “broke” its rules. However, the forefather of this movement was Francois Delsarte, who was the first to take a close look at the feedback between

mind and body.
Contemporary dance is (often) spatial, expressive and expressive movement. It is a movement in which the mind and body are one.
A movement that tells a story and one that can express: ideas, emotions, feelings and everything contained in the mind-body. Its uniqueness and theatricality include, among others, on movement combined with intention. It is a movement in which our entire being is manifested. In which the dancer’s personality is important and largely determines his individual style. Creating your own movement is often a very creative process and develops you on many levels.

In dance improvisation, which is a branch of contemporary dance, the dancer moves/dances using specific suggestions/images/improvisation techniques of the leader, but creates the movement independently, just like a person painting a picture decides what will be in the picture. However, you will not be left to your own devices. We will achieve fluidity in this form of movement step by step, process-wise.

Movement Expression Techniques, also called intuitive or free dance, is an even more free form of movement.
We also receive suggestions from the leader, but here the form of movement is important at a very subtle level. The most important thing is to express with our body in any way what we feel and the stories stored in the body.

The combination of therapeutic dance and contemporary dance in this course is crucial because it trains the dancer not only in releasing the content stored in the body, but also in awareness, motor agility and “thinking” with form in movement. This connection means that we do not get stuck at the level of feeling, and the body is able to keep up with the mind, and the physicality supports the mental space

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
– psychotic states
– psychotropic therapy (request for consultation with a doctor)
– advanced pregnancy and very early postpartum period
– various types of inflammation and acute conditions

-current, unhealed injuries

Situations when you need to be careful with yourself:
– high sensitivity to strong stimuli, e.g. loud sounds
– use of pharmacological agents
– overall very poor condition of the body

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLASSICAL THERAPY AND THERAPEUTIC DANCE

This course is not therapy in the classic sense of the word, although most of the exercises have both developmental and healing effects. It can be a very beneficial complement to and support classic therapy.
If someone is in therapy, it is worth letting your therapist know that you plan to take part in these workshops.
Do you have a question about this point? Write.
