SOFT ACROBATICS IN CONTACT IMPROVISATION (shoulder and hip connection) weekend workshop – Paweł Konior / April 26-27

Soft Acrobatics in Contact Inprovisation.

The workshop is for people who are not afraid of challenges and like to move, and above all who can or want to learn to listen to their body.

We will start the workshops with the Ilan Lev Method to open the senses and prepare the body for movement.

We will look for new movement paths on our own, as well as confront our capabilities and patterns.

Later, we will look for inverted positions, handstands, rolling, shuffling, front and back flips. Sounds like a challenge? That is why all acrobatics will be done in pairs or threes to facilitate their execution and ensure safety. 😉

The third part will be about the integration of previously learned elements and introducing them into improvisations and dance.

Previous preparation is not necessary but is welcome. The classes will be adapted to both beginners and experienced people. By triggering children’s curiosity, we will strive for effortless, joyful meetings. (experiencing all possibilities and impossibilities within them).

In addition to acrobatics, there will be time for dancing, improvisation, stillness and rest.

I like to think about the workshop as a playground, full of tools for new explorations.

THE WORKSHOP WILL BE LEAD BY:
ł
performer, mover,teacher.
After graduating Academy of Physical Education and Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, Paweł has been working in the fields of performing arts in Holland, Belgium, Poland as a dancer and performer for several years.
His sport background had a big impact on his way of moving and teaching where improvisation is intertwined with technique and fun.
Paweł has a specific and organic way of working, with a lot of playfulness, spontaneity, creating environment for people to learn and adapt to constantly changing situations, which allows them to nourish their true potential. His work is influenced by fighting monkey practise, martial arts, contact improvisation, tai chi.
„We are never in balance…searching for harmony and balance is a constant process.“

During the classes, participants will be able to look at phenomena such as:

‍♂️Attraction and repulsion

Rhythm and tempo

‍♂️Being in and out of balance

‍♀️Internal and external synchronization

‍♂️Spirals and moving in an arc

We will follow how the processes related to the above sub-points evolve in time and space. (Properly dosed and reinforced. )

During the classes, we will self-reflect on movement:

-How to decide how much we need and what we need at the right time?

-Does creating tension help to realize the situation?

-How does control and analysis affect movement?

-How does breathing, trust in animal instincts and intuition change the quality of movement?

-How to effortlessly invite a situation and let it continue?

In short, the questions will be:

Which path do you follow? How do you make choices? And how do you react to the situation?

While simultaneously experiencing movement at the group level, collective level (attempting to synchronize with other bodies in space), we will strive for self-awareness and individualization of movement.
